Hopin’ winter’s gone…eager to get ridin’

Bruno’s desk…

Hopin’ winter’s done. I’m ready to start hoppin’ into spring…

Hopefully the weather changes for the better soon! I’ve had enough of this cold and snow!

My wife and I have been talking about motorcycle rides this summer with our friends and with her brother and sister and their spouses. Should make for some very interesting adventures.

We are also looking forward to taking our paddle boat for a trip along the channel in Bobcaygon. Now this boat is not the typical small resin boat you see by the lakefront at cottages. Our boat is transported on, and launched from, a modified double snowmobile trailer. The boat is almost as wide as the trailer and hangs about 2 feet off the end. It is made of fiberglass and will hold 6 people, with a deck on the front and back. There is a motor mount bracket for a 3 horse motor and a folding ladder at the back to access the water. It comes with a large folding canopy, cup holders and storage unit. It is called a “Paddle Wheeler III. The upper half has a bright green Metallic colour while the lower half is white.

It may not be a yacht but she’s all mine and when she’s in the water in the hot summer sunshine, she’s a yacht to me!

Maybe we will take the fishing rods along and try some fishing too. Which reminds me, in case you don’t already know, seniors and people with disabilities, that have a disability car tag, are exempt from needing a fishing license. So, go to the docks, find a place to fish and enjoy some time in the great outdoors.

Easter weekend is April 14 – 17
Fresh air, flowers grass and trees. All you want to have this time of the year.

I still enjoy colouring hard boiled eggs and decorating them. Perhaps the grandkids will visit and we will have an Easter egg hunt either inside the house or outside, depending on the weather.

Check out your local communities for events this weekend that you can enjoy. Many churches will present special programs.

I know Port Perry will have an Easter Bonnet contest and parade as well as an Easter egg hunt for the children.

Happy Easter everyone!
