April showers bring May flowers

Mother’s Day…just around the corner.

Don’t forget your mum, a box of chocolates, some flowers, a card. Something that says you love her and remember all she has done for you.

Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is just around the corner on Sunday, May 14.

Mothers and Step-Mothers are usually celebrated on this weekend. Although we should celebrate them every day. Without them, we wouldn’t be who we are. They are always there to love us, guide us and are always a beacon of light when things sometimes get a bit dark.

Remember all the good times and let her know you remember and love them as they love you.

Happy Mother’s Day to you all.

Victoria Day, Mon., May 22.

To most of us, it is just another long weekend when some of the first fireworks come out to light up the sky.

Many will go to their cottages for the first time to clean and prepare it for the summer use. Others take this time to clean up their yards. Place outdoor furniture on the backyard decks and, if you have one, clean and prepare the pool for the season.

Glad to see the snow is gone now. The sun is lasting longer each day. Our body joints can use the warmth of the sun as the fresh air rejuvenates our lungs and we get to enjoy the great outdoors more.

Listen to the birds sing and watch the squirrels or chipmunks chase each other around the yard. Take a walk along the beach or in a park and take in all that nature has to offer.

At the time of this writing, my Mom (87) and Dad (92) have been preparing for the past month to move into a larger 2 bedroom apartment from the one bedroom they have been in for the past couple of years. Their seniors’ building apartment move is only one floor down.

They have been packing boxes for a month. Boxes are everywhere and the living quarters are getting cramped. Both are getting a bit stressed out from all this activity and anxious about the move. They are feeling tired and can’t wait until the move is over.
