CUBA TODAY
Rural life is likely better in Cuba than urban living. Homes may be basic and small, clothing needs are very basic but the rural worker is likely not going hungry, nor is he standing in the rain. Cities have more people struggling to meet their basic needs. More homeless are seen, more malnourished and more with tattered, worn clothing. The worst thing to see is the masks of hopelessness and despair in comparison to the farmer. The farmer may have a hard life but he has food.
That’s Cuba today, people working hard, getting by and living bearable lives. They are as contented as they can be given what they have and what they lack.
