Keeping so busy, the memory lapses at times

Sometimes we get so busy, we don’t realize how time is passing by so quickly. Summer that wasn’t has passed by and September, flashed by even faster.

Now we need to enjoy October, hopefully at a slower pace.

Missed the entire month of September! So busy with my day job, teaching motorcycle riding on a few of the weekends and finishing off laying the Patio stones in our front yard with the help of my wife, Darlene.

So busy with my day job, teaching motorcycle riding on a few of the weekends and finishing off laying the Patio stones in our front yard with the help of my wife, Darlene, I overlooked September completely.

We did take some time off to enjoy a weekend foray to Honey Harbour near Port Severn at Georgian Bay. We joined up with a few hundred others from our Riding Club for the year-end bash. My motorcycle GANG as one of our neighbours likes to call them. Too funny.

Reality set in that weekend as the temperature started to drop. Summer was about to be over, even though we really didn’t have one.

October finds us visiting the last of the summer/fall fairs. Darlene entered many of her latest quilts in these fairs and won mostly 1st prize or Grand Champions, with a couple 2nds. The “Quilt Queen” as I, and some of her friends have started to call her. Well done, honey.

Yard work will now start to shift to the fall cleanup and winter prep mode.

Lots of maintenance to be done on the vehicles before the cold sets in.

Preparing this weekend for Thanksgiving. Mmmm, good food, family and friends. Don’t think I want turkey this year though. I’d rather have a nice ham from Costco. That way the leftover sandwiches have a better flavour. It can also be used as part of a nice breakfast.

Hopefully, Thanksgiving weekend can be more for relaxing, after all the summer work, but that may be just a dream.

Leaves will start to fall if they haven’t already.

Cleanup needed in preparation of Halloween trick or treaters. Should we get dressed in a costume to scare the pants off them, or just do our usual in everyday clothes and greet them with a smile and comment about their great costume?

Hope you all have a scrumptious Thanksgiving and a Spooky Halloween.
