Summer is my time of the year and…
It’s here! It’s here! Summer is finally here. Or is it?
This month started off with July 1st Canada Day celebrations. Hope you all went out and enjoyed the festivities. My wife and I always look forward to this weekend, even with all the work around the house that’s needed.
Usually, around 9 pm, we head to Port Perry to find a good place at the Rona building lot to view the excellent fireworks display that begins at 10 pm.
Other displays can be found in various locations around the Durham Region. Hope you enjoy them as well. These venues have so many activities and enough vendors for every taste and enjoyment.
July 21-22 is the local Pow Wow presented by the Mississaugas of Scugog Island. This is an interesting, colourful and informative cultural event. Come out and see what the Mississaugas have to offer.
While writing this, at the end of June, my brother-in-law and his wife have ridden their motorcycle from Sudbury to Newfoundland for a few weeks of vacation. Today they find it has gotten cold and snow is falling again! Fortunately for them, the hotel owners have a friend that owns the local car dealership and offered them the use of a car for the day with absolutely no strings attached, You just never know what can happen on the Rock.
