My Bio
David and Brenda, married 29 years, are homeowners, property taxpayers, and raised their two daughters in Ward 3. David’s a full-time Councillor, serving residents for six consecutive terms. David holds a BES – University of Waterloo and had a 32-year career in the Ontario government.
Why are you running in this election?
I am passionate about our community and have worked for the residents with honesty, integrity and professionalism my entire political career. Important and exciting initiatives are underway that are bringing positive change to Pickering. I have led and supported many of them and will continue to work for you to make our community even better.
What do you feel are the top 2 issues in your ward and how would you address them?
Making Pickering a safe place to live, work and play
I am committed to improving our community infrastructure. I have initiated unprecedented roads, sidewalks, parks, and transit improvements to make getting around easier and safer. I hear the priorities of the residents of Pickering and aim to initiate even more improvements to our community.
Affordable Taxes
We have lowered tax increases to below the rate of inflation by managing budgets and very importantly, by attracting new and growing businesses such as Kubota, Red Crest and Durham Live. These corporations will bring not only more jobs to our community, but they will generate non-residential revenues which will off-set taxes of all residents. My priority is to continue to prioritize fair and affordable taxes for our community.
I want to serve as your counsellor again in Ward 3.
