A final word for the campaign from Mayoralty candidate Cortez

Mr. Cortez is truly representative of many Canadians, an immigrant whose first language is not English. Readers should read past his humble way of expressing a very serious message to voters.

We wish Mr. Cortez all the best.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID AND WHAT HASN’T BEEN SAID

To say something like this is making you believe that our expressions of faith have been incomplete.

The basic frame expresses our intentions to make our community better based on continuous affirmations taken as generalities from all candidates (no exceptions).

When this campaign is ending we feel  writing something as deep and everlasting as the Gettysburg Address of Abraham Lincoln, unfortunately, we resort to the simple truth that reflects our intentions toward the community;

My main message has been and will be at the present time to kill the apathy and indifference that is destroying our clear determination for change in a consistent way that reflects the real spirit of Democracy; The closer to 100% participation the better.

The resume of all our argument, dispositions, actions and statement could be simplified in a single word, incomplete per se but realistic in their applications to the community coming from all of us: PROMISES

The lucky fact is that I didn’t happen to see the usual mud throwing that is a fact, particularly in American Politics.

I could fill 10 pages with the local promises available from my fellow’s politicians but this time I am sorry for not being in agreement of this action’

Instead of PROMISES, I will substitute my actions for one that is considered more important in my dictionary and that is

SERVICE.

As an unchanging principle, human action fulfills its purpose when our endeavors are pointing out to serve with no interest particularly the underprivileged. Wheater we like it or not this is a basic statement in the underlying order of the world in which we live.

The interaction of intentions and, thoughts in the creation of laws, order, and progress with the human spirit give us the certainty that is within this frame that human clear actions fulfill its purpose.

Action with good intentions create the first step of our own self-improvement

I have to wrap my soul on the service and dedication on this campaign where I try to use creativity and ingenious solutions to problems that arise for lack of funds to present my ideas. When something as an obstacle was presently there I restarted to alternative acts; like the expensive price of printed t-shirt then buying indelible crayons to write on the t-shirt my message.

Luckily I happen to realize quite some time ago that poverty isn’t an edible experience and that’s why enrolled myself in trying to help the underdog and those that need some help to overcome temporary obstacles.

SERVICE to others is my motto and nothing better than some affirmations clarify my thoughts about it.

SERVICE
The rivers don’t drink their own flowing water.
The trees don’t eat their own blooming fruits.
The sun doesn’t shine for itself.
The flowers don’t share their fragrances for themselves.
Life is wonderful when you are happy but is a lot better
when we know that others are happy because of our actions.
Our nature is SERVICE and whoever doesn’t like to serve
its useless in life.

Thank you,

Sincerely,
Bert Cortez
