4 steps to great emails

You’re busy; I’m busy; we are all busier than ever. Therefore our time is at a premium.

Get to the point, quickly and efficiently.

Frustrated with long-winded emails? Rambling run-ons of digital tedium? Become one of the few whose emails are concise, sharp, to the point and respectful of the recipient’s time.

4 steps to better emails, effective and respectful of people’s time.

  1. Present a NUMBERED list at the top listing the email’s contents;
  2. Number your paragraphs to clearly delineate each topic of the email;
  3. Subtitle each paragraph so readers scan the email more quickly;
  4. Close your email with an ‘action/non-action’ end. The recipient understands if they need to act or just file the email.
