Comparing the election debates, CDN – USA; USA more controlled

Typical Canadian, Paul Wells, Maclean’s magazine columnist and moderator of the leaders debate held in Toronto at the outset of the campaign, exemplifies Canadian personas to a ‘T.” When the debate got out of hand, he politely sat back and let things unfold until the point of total chaos was reached. At that point, instead of pursuing the issue that was so heated, he calmed the waters by switching to a totally different issue.
