Peter Forint has a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science, a MBA from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University, and a graduate certificate from Seneca College in Green Business Management. He spent over 24 years in the private sector working as a sales consultant for companies such as NCR Canada, Space.com, Sandcat Software Inc., and Wardell Professional Development. During this time he helped companies promote products and services to North America and Europe, working with small businesses and Fortune 500 companies. Later on in his career, he used the skills he gained from this profession to become a business professor at Seneca College.
Forint was trained by Al Gore in 2015 as a Climate Reality Project Leader whose goal was to inform the public about business and climate change. He has stated that the global environmental crisis is a result of governments around the world mismanaging their finances and that full life cycle costs need to be taken into account when considering decisions about product development and purchasing.
Forint has sat on the board of directors for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Ajax-Pickering and the Ajax-Pickering Board of Trade. He was also an Advocate Member for the “Small Wind Committee” of the Canadian Wind Energy Association from 2005 to 2010 and a civilian volunteer with the Ontario Provincial Committee of the Air Cadet League of Canada from 2015 to 2017. He has donated blood with the Canadian Blood Services 120 times, coaches little league baseball, and likes spending his time off hiking in Duffin’s Creek.
