Calling all Highway Poets

Hit the brakes and grab a pen. Here’s your chance to let your creativity flow.

The 2nd Annual Biker Poetry Contest is now in full swing and we’re looking for original poems that tell us about your love for motorcycles!  This year we’ll choose 5 finalists in the Biker Ladies category and 5 finalists in the Biker Men category.  That’s 10 readings of fantastic poems on stage, plus a possible few from our judges.

We’re excited to announce that last year’s winners Karen Stephenson and Klaus Kaak will be judging the finalists, along with Mark Richardson, Editor of Canada Moto Guide, a fellow poet himself.  We also have a couple of special guests lined up, to be announced a little later, and you won’t want to miss those.   Our fabulous emcee, Pat Gonsalves will be hosting, introducing the finalists and announcing the winners.

The date for the on-stage contest is Saturday, April 4th, at the Toronto International Centre, part of the 31st annual Toronto International Spring Motorcycle Show, running April 4 & 5, 2020.   All finalists will receive 2 complimentary Show Tickets to attend on Saturday, and the winners each receive a $200 cash prize and a Show Award.  Think of the prestige!

So if you haven’t written your poem yet after a great summer of riding, grab a hot chocolate and get your pens out.  Put your thoughts into inspired prose that you’ll be prepared to read to a crowd of fellow motorcycle enthusiasts.  You can submit up to 3 original poems.  Visit www.motorcyclespringshow.com/biker-poetry for the full Contest terms and conditions, and some samples of great poetry from last year.

Finalists will be announced and individually notified shortly after the contest deadline of March 22nd.

One final note; If you entered last year’s contest and were not selected you are welcome to enter your poems again, or send us something entirely new.  All entries will be read and considered.  We’re excited to see what you’ve got.  Good Luck!
