Do not regret growing older, it’s a privilege denied to many!
This powerful proverb is so true. However, few people give it much thought. I am nearing 70 and so the proverb hits home very powerfully. The saying may be aimed at younger people, but they don’t give age much thought.
Whatever your age, consider for a moment the people in your life who are dead today. Robin Williams; Amy Winehouse; Farley Mowat. How many were younger than you? James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, Heath Ledger (Bat man movie, Broke Back Mountain), John Candy, Cory Monteith. Recognize how lucky you are to be the age you are, and hopefully in reasonable health. Consider two people in their seventies, one still drives a car and enjoys life, the other has Alzheimer’s and needs to be under 24/7 supervision.
If you are fit and mentally in a right state of mind – it’s time you give thanks and smile every morning you wake up…alive and healthy.
