Teddy Fay is Stuart Woods’ channelling of Ian Fleming’s James Bond but without the espionage aspects. Fay is the Robin Hood to the rich and famous, a super agent of justice and retribution, who gladly works to bring justice to their causes or requests.
Disregarding the comic-book level to which the story can reach, the story is a great piece of fluff that will entertain you and keep you turning the pages as you enjoy the fun. It isn’t serious writing in any way, but it is quality writing in the sense that Woods is an expert at engaging dialogue, not to mention he touts sailing, flying and fast cars with the expertise of a passionate hobbyist.
If you enjoy a bowl of salted nuts from time to time, this book is your literary bowl of salted nuts…tasty, flavourful and satisfying without the caloric impact.
