SWEET CREATURES –
A debut novella written by Frank Beghin, is a compilation of horror, ghoulish short stories that Frank began writing years ago.
As a teen, Frank couldn’t resist the attraction of sci-fi stories. Lost World, Star Trek, District 9 were his daily cinematic diet. Feeling he could create scarier and more ghastly tales of horror and monsters himself, he dipped his quill into the blood-filled inkwell and scribbled his imaginations to paper. He was good, so good his mother refused his reading his stories aloud at the kitchen table. His father would just leave the kitchen as soon as Frank brought out his latest creation.
Frank got married. His stories got better. He dipped his toe into other genre, poetry, short stories, romance, westerns but he always returned to his outer space world wings. When his daughters went to bed at night, Frank read them his original works. The girls loved the stories. Angela, Frank’s wife, not so much, saying the stories frightened their daughters. Far from the truth, the girls enjoyed the works so much, dozing off became a near impossibility. Frank recognized he had to stop the nightly readings but the writing went on.
After many years and getting some of his works published in magazines, Frank has soared to loftier heights with his first book. In the editing stage now, Sweet Creatures, is a collection of delightfully ghoulish tales that will tickle the fancy of any sci fi enthusiast and scare the daylights out of those who let their imaginations run amok as they read his work by the bedside lamp.
Don’t go there. Pull the covers up over your head.
