Rotzy hits the nail on the head in many areas…but supporting Junior T, now that is a first!
It was worse than Buffalo! In fact, it was considerably worse than Buffalo!! I’m referring to Wiarton, Ontario, and while Buffalo is subject to the ‘lake effect’ offered up at the easterly end of Lake Erie, Wiarton and the rest of ‘the Bruce’ is a ‘target’ for Lake Huron AND Georgian Bay. And this snowstorm wasn’t far off the mark. I lost track of how many feet the Queen City got and/or how many metres landed on the Peninsula and Wiarton in particular. Then came all kinds of Buffalo TV news footage of some ‘Joe-average-citizen’ type guys becoming ‘instant heroes’ as they trudged along in waist-high drifts behind their Troy-Built*tm Snowblowers in an effort to get to a fair number of ‘stranded’ Bills football players (who obviously do NOT have a Troy-Built*tm) and somehow move them to the airport. But yours truly wasn’t aware of The Bruce’s record/near record until the CTV Kitchener Sunday News at 6:00…and overall the report more or less indicated Wiarton and area were ‘taking it in stride’. The snowfall. Earlier than usual. But taking it in stride, tho the ‘strides’ were no doubt on snow shoes! Those BIG ones the Eskimos make. Also, there are ski resorts very close to Wiarton and not too far from Buffalo and the ‘groomer machines’ are surely still moving mountains of snow….and certainly no need for snow making machinery/equipment. Well, the next day when ‘the front’ moved out, it hit me! WILLIE! Where in the Hell is Wiarton Willie??!! And, like, Rotzy’s got this sudden ‘guilt thing’….that it took a day and a half for the whereabouts of Canada’s Most Favourite Rodent to register with me. Imagine. Then I said (to myself) “Hey Toad….what’s with all the upset? Willie is a ground hog….and they go to sleep in winter, just like bears do….’hibernate’ as it were. And ‘what about all the snow’? you ask. Willie is out like a light and won’t have to deal with it until next March. And if you spot him in Dec or Jan phrolicking around in the snow, it’s not him! It’ll be his cousin Ollie. Otter.

I used to have some immunity built up, but obviously there’s a new strain. (welcome to the club, Gus!) *She says I keep pushing her buttons. If that were true, I would have found ‘mute’ by now. *I’m, not saying I’m old and worn out, but I make sure I’m nowhere near the curb on rubbish day. (don’t even get close to it) *I haven’t done anything today. I’ve been in the Produce Department trying to open this stupid, plastic bag! (I know exactly where you’re coming from Gus….Rotzy’s ‘personal record’ is 9 minutes 28 seconds for 1 bag.) No s–t. *If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, Trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace The Taliban with The Taliban. On And On It Goes
The ‘enquiry’ into what is most often referred to as ‘the truckers protest in Ottawa’. ‘Protest’ being the key word in this case. Let’s get this straight right off the bat…..this was NOT a ‘protest’! It started out as an ‘idea’ somebody had, a ‘thought’, then it became a ‘protest’. But somewhere along the way, or when they wheeled into Ottawa, it all went wrong! (*another ‘right off the bat’ thing)….Rotzy worked at least half my working life as a trucker and within the trucking industry and if and when it gets between the rock and the hard part, I’m almost guaranteed to side them! The truck drivers. But NOT in Bytown. It was doomed to fail before many of them even got to the Capital, and tho most managed to find it, they were to find they had no leader(s), no leadership, no agenda, no plans, and no large designated area for them park their Kenworths and Peterbuilts. No nothing!! Then someone amongst them DID come up with a plan….’Let’s become Ottawa’s worst nightmare for a couple weeks! Really piss people off, eh? Nobody gonna bother us, ’cause some of us got kids with us!!’ I know not if anybody really said that, but to expose children….theirs and others….to that bulls–t for a week or two speaks volumes. ‘Nuff said. That brings us to last Friday and the last person to be questioned on justifying using The Emergency Measures Act was the P/M. So….SO….if you read this space even once in a while, you’re likely aware Rotzy agrees with next to nothing that comes out of Justin Trudeau’s mouth and that he often makes me cringe. Not Friday….not this tyme….he was right on, so was his delivery. Bottom line here? The Ottawa ‘protest’ became a blatant act of terrorism that ranks us right up there with the USA and the storming of their Capital Building, you think? Maybe theirs was more violent, but WE have more staying power.
