PARIS MATCH,
Stuart Woods
Synopsis
The book disappoints because it is more of a spy thriller than the usual detective story, regular Stone Barrington fans expect.
Woods is not as familiard with Paris as his American stomping ground, New York. Therefore, the scenes throughout the book lack weight and detail as the American settings have.
Worse, because Woods’s attempt at writing a spy thriller falls flat. There is no development of a plotline; there is a lot of emphasis on Romeo Barrington and his conquests; there is nothing engaging or captivating, no story line that is developed and attractive.
A disappointing read compared to many other books in the Stone Barrington series. Not recommended.
