My Canada…
As an immigrant, I’ve never taken for granted the many benefits and freedoms of living in Canada, and the miraculous chance to evolve into an internationally published English-language writer, scholar, and translator. Transitioning from postcommunism to postcolonialism has indeed brought me great wonders but also equally great [if not greater] burdens of all kinds, becoming a white settler included.
