I have had no intention of joining the multitude of Biden debate crash critics but a media piece caught my eye today and sparked some conspiracy based thinking.
The gist of the article by Jessica Reed Kraus in the ‘House Inhabit’ is that Jill Biden is the force that prevents Joe Biden from resigning from the 2024 US Presidential campaign. Worse, there is a claim in the piece that Biden is suffering from a progressive brain disease called ‘lewy body dementia.’ Some symptoms of the disease are rigid muscles, slow movement, trouble walking and tremors, all of which are visible in Joe Biden.
For the most part, Joe Biden has overcome the stutter issues of his younger days but some vestiges remain, particularly when he is fatigued or highly stressed. He spent a week at Camp David in high-level preparation for the CNN TV debate and most certainly, the debate would have been a high-stress situation.
In any case, Kraus theorizes that Jill Biden does not want to give up the limelight and celebrity status she has as First Lady. Hence, she insists her husband stay in the race for the Presidency so she can continue in her role as the wife of the American President.
All this is gossip-mongering, but unfortunately, there is irrefutable visible evidence to corroborate these claims. Based on the debate broadcast, Biden is definitely experiencing physical difficulties and his debate performance does suggest the man is aged.
I dislike reading such a column as it borders on gossip. However, a little bit of research uncovered many stories from many experts and professionals who have dealt with Biden or do so now. Some of the medical experts have even been named.
It is a sad state of affairs for the US, a nation of more than 300 million people, that they cannot find two better nominees for the Presidential office than a convicted felon who cannot cobble two sentences without one of them being a lie versus an aged man who stumbles, cannot walk unsupported and who displays evidence of questionable mental capacities. An unprecedented and historical election for the US, for certain.
