OLYMPICS: Canada fined $300K; Coach banned for 1 year; Canada deducted 6 pts

Canada Women’s Soccer has suffered a severe blow to its competitive possibilities because of the drone spying of the New Zealand Women’s soccer practice.

Head coach, Beverly Priestman, has been banned from soccer for a year. The Canadian Women’s Soccer has been fined 200,ooo Swiss francs, ($300,000Cdn) and they have been deducted 6 points from their standing.

More repercussions could be forthcoming as FIFA investigates further. Canada’s Gold medal from the Japan Olympics could be in question.
