Amica Pickering hosts celebratory events for its residents and invited guests. Recently they held a Caribbean celebration, a smashing success.
More than 300 people, residents, family and friends, and invited guests attended the wonderful celebration. Many people even dressed up in their Caribbean best as they nibbled on Jamaican goodies and calypsoed to live Caribbean melodies played by two talented and spirited musicians. The melodies plonked out rhythmically from the steel drum percussionist while his partner plucked the guitar singing the songs of the Caribbean south. Bob Marley would have been proud.
Amica Pickering regularly hosts such events, but this one was one of the most enjoyable. The residents lined up along the dance floor. There were so many who attended that the dining room doors had to be opened so the overflow had places to sit and enjoy the music and the dancing. And dancing there was, costumed staff and residents wearing their own colourful costumes, all joined in swaying and rocking and bopping to the calypso melodies.
The nibbles were great, the drinks delicious and the music, spirited, lively and engaging. It was a real party that the residents and attendees really enjoyed. Amica Pickering did a marvellous job with this party.
