55+ Seniors Games Day – a Wrap Up

The people have spoken. They loved it, the Seniors Games Day.

Nearly, 100 seniors registered or were “drop-in’s” at the Seniors Games Day event prepared and presented by the 55+ Committee. The participants ‘had a blast’ according to one attendee.

Some of what various seniors said about the event:

“This event was a blast, a lot of fun and a lot of laughable moments.”

“The City should be doing something like this every week!”

“Programs like these should be run throughout the year.”

“Haven’t had this kind of fun in a long time. Do it again!”

Games Day was an afternoon event that had seniors involved in all kinds of games and activities, ranging from physical ones like mini-gulf and safety dartboard competitions to mental games like Trivial Pursuit and Name that Tune. The two hour event could have been extended according to many of the enthusiastic particpants, many of whom added that they would like to see such events put on by the City again and more often.

The 55+ Committee members who were the executive organizers of the event, Andrea, Jenna, Rose, Abby, Elka, Seyon, David and Normalyn extend their thanks to all the participants and their appreciation that so many people enjoyed the event so much.

We’ll be back next year, bigger and better.

I just want to say the work that you put in along with Brian made this the success it was. This was a games day that I could be proud to say I was involved with. All the comments from people leaving were very positive, very thankful and wondering what was next up for 55 plus.

Well done.
