CONTEST: A COMPARISON of Commemorative Street Banners of Uxbridge vs. Pickering

Kudos to both cities, Uxbridge and Pickering, for their street lamp commemorations of our fallen military veterans.

This is a comparison set of questions about the Uxbridge vs Pickering streetlamp Remembrance Banners.

  1. Which City highlights the fallen soldier more emphatically? Explain.
  2. Which banner gives the banner donor(s) better credit? Explain.
  3. Which banner gives too much credit to the city than it should? How?
  4. Which banner does better justice to the British flag? Explain.
  5. Which banner better credits the veteran’s military service? How?
  6. Finally, overall which banner do you prefer? Why?

The submissions will be
judged by a Pickering Councillor, a Canadian veteran and a Canadian citizen (immigrant). SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Nov. 11/24. The three best submissions will have one person guested by Richard for lunch at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 606 in Pickering, Sunday, December 15th, 2 pm.
