Racism, hate incidents, personal assault…all too prevalent even though we seem to be working hard to eradicate from our society.
This attack took place in the Ajax Public Library…a woman wearing a hijab was assaulted and her apparel was almost set aflame.
Pickering Mayor Kevin Ashe offers his regrets and support to the victim and her family. As the Mayor says, “This isn’t us.” Meaning most people in our society work hard against this kind of racism and aggression.
