This is a hell of a website…varied, broad in scope, wide-ranging and extremely varied in interests.
I started the site almost 10 years ago, and it has grown ever since in every direction and in various topics. I have tried to keep it straightforward and focussed, but my interests are so varied that I am all over the map in topics, stories, posts, and pieces.
In recent years, I have narrowed my focus somewhat: I try to write about my City, my people, the people of Pickering and my family. I am fortunate to have a loving and caring family that is moderate in size and very involved with me. You should be so lucky, and I hope you are.
I live in the City of Pickering, and in my experience, it is one of the best places to live anywhere for convenience, socialization, events and much more. I have travelled far and wide in my life, and though other places have their attractions, their colour and uniqueness, none quite fits as well as Pickering. The City is managed well by politicians who are honest, sincere and dedicated. The people here are friendly, sociable and personable. The City is safe, suitably sized and without the negatives that come with size. As a senior, I find the City offers an excellent variety of events, activities, services, and shopping, all suitable to my needs. In short, Pickering is an excellent place to live if you are my age…except… winters can be a bitch…but that’s Canada, and I like it here!
