Once again, this year’s Active Living Fair was a great success! The City of Pickering organizes the fair to celebrate its 55+ community and offers attendees a wealth of information about active living and wellness.
Pickering’s Mayor, Kevin Ashe, welcomed more than 450 participants to the day’s events. There were numerous vendors, making information available on all aspects of living well and healthy. The speakers were top-notch on topics pertaining to cardiology, finances, age-friendly consulting, and local history.
Special thanks to the local grocery retailer Farm Boy for providing a wonderful selection of lunch bags. A great example of the support local retailers give to City of Pickering endeavours.

Further, led by artist June, Pickering has a budding group of enthusiastic artists. Their impressive artistic endeavours were on display for everyone to view in the art studio of the Recreation Complex.
The day was also highlighted by a lunch provided free to anyone who had signed up, then crowned by a fun draw of prizes for those who attended to the end.
There was much happy chattering during this day’s events, followed by many happy smiles in closing. Happy smiles that look forward to another and even better day next year.
A big thank you, City of Pickering, and to all the volunteers who once again made another Living Well event possible.
